These shots of Alcatraz were taken as part of my trip to the US for the GDC 2013. Apart from weeding out a lot of photos, all I’ve done to these is re-size them.
They are as shot in-camera using a built-in filter called “Dynamic.” This filter I came quite fond of as it allowed me to take photos in low light conditions without a flash, and really brought out contrasting highlights and depth of detail that would normally get wasted out.
For example, fine details like those in clouds and fog.
Lucky shot from boat to Alcatraz
Wild life have no natural predators
Signs of Indian occupation
Military choppers kept on flying by
Burnt out building seen through door window
More choppers and fog rolling in
Cell for one
Lots of wild birds
Another lucky shot
I love my new camera
These guys make the weirdest sounds
They sound like primates

These gulls are very inquisitive and unlike the pests you find in Australia
